Our new Tango has a vent over the Master Bed. Anybody else come across this problem, and did you come up with any solutions to let the air flow, but keep the morning light out.
I am up with the birds all week. Last thing I need when I am trying to relax is get up with the damb robin's on Saturday morning.

I haven't, yet. I did switch it out to a high speed Maxx-Air fan unit and I leave the fan open but shut off at night - I bought a "shade" that screwed into the ceiling and unrolls/covers the vent at night to keep the light out.

Can't see how to have your cake and eat it too. It's air or dark. We put a cover over it and leave the a/c on.

I,m thinkin that I could get some sort of dark mesh. Put a snap in each corner to hold it into place. Or the other idea is to darken the Maxx Air cover. Possibly painting the inside black.
All I know about painting is if you really want it to stick, it won't. If you don't want it to stick it will (argh).

You could try getting some short pieces of tubing, some long screws, and a piece of luan plywood a couple of inches larger than the vent.
The tubing would be used to hold the plywood away from the ceiling (maybe 2-3") with the screws going through the plywood, up through the tubing (1/4" pipe nipples would work) and into the ceiling.
This would allow air flow, but cut off the light (for the most part)...and not really cost much.
Just a thought.
I also think that I saw some covers that were black plastic, which I believe would also solve the problem. Have you checked CW??

Get one of these in the dark smoke or black color. It will allow the air to circulate AND keep out the light. You can leave your vent open 24/7 all year long! Nothing will get in except the air.
If you have a high efficiency fan in the vent, then get one of these.

I second that idea - in fact, I resemble that idea. We have a ceiling vent directly over our master bed. It was nice at night, but more than a bit annoying in the morning according to the boss. She wanted it solved and I invested in the black MaxxAir vent cover - problem solved as much as possible. The only other option would be one of the velcro or snap covers.

What about some shade cloth? Does that allow for air flow?
We had the same problem and I bought a piece of foam board with a dark green side and I stuck it up there with velcro and a couple layers of double sided foam. (foam being on the foam board) This stops the direct sunlight from entering but still allows for pretty decent air flow... I like it because the air doesn't flow directly on me which I dislike.
Eventually we plan to get the maxiair vent and will consider it in black too much else to buy though.
How do you like your Tango? That was our first choice but solely due to finances and the deal we got on the one we did get..

I don't open my roof vent so I have cardboard taped over mine...

We love the Tango. Of all the travel trailers we looked through, they had the best fit and finish by far.
Ours was used twice and traded in on a fifth wheel, so we got a deal.
Nice trailer.
