Was thinking about taking my FS25 up to Kennedy Meadows to do some riding. Does anyone know if there are RV/Trailer spaces at the Fish Camp or Troy Meadows campgrounds big enough to accomodate my truck and FS25 trailer?

Also I hear the road is pretty steep and twisty getting up there, will I be OK towing it with my Duramax?

Thanks for your help.

There's a wildfire going on up there right now so you might want to look into that before making plans. The fire is just north east of Kennedy Meadows. Fish Camp and Troy Meadow are north west. There could be restrictions on travel in that area. And then again maybe not. Wildland fires are everywhere right now and would be a wise idea to check out any place before you take off.

I have a friend who wants to go up there but I have a 39 foot TH 5'er and a Dodge Dually.

Could I make it up there?

If not is there a place close by where we could camp and then take another car and trailer up top with the RZR in tow?

You're good to go at Fish Creek, or either of the Troy Meadow CG's. I think you'll enjoy Fish Creek CG more, as it has great shade, the most water spigots, and asphalt back-ins.
Heres some reading,

My Gasser Chevy pulled Our 24' T H up there O K.
NO problem at Fish Creek with that size trailer.
The Bigger T H guys might consider the overflow areas for Troy and Fish Creek since they don't have the skinny roads and short parking spaces.

Your D-max will do fine. Take your time. Study the road on the way up. Notice how the hill seems never ending. With that in mind, on the way down state off slow. It is a long slow winding drive. Although the Ally downshifts automatically, you really need for your rig to never pick up speed. Also, I would make sure your trailer brakes are properly adjusted before your trip.

Be safe,

Tex

Great thing about KM is that there is really no palce to drive a RZR/Rhino or quads.

Yea, take the TH but leave the UTV at home, two wheels only for the most part. I think the only road open to 4 wheel OHV is the road to Monache, not 100% though. I took the rig in my sig up there with two bikes/people and full of water. going up was fine, coming down I didn't use enough brake and overheated the trans. All in all it was an AWESOME trip, can't wait to go back. Once you get out away from the main camps the trails are great, challenging but great, and the scenery is unbelievable.

If you do go to Fish Creek, be sure to bring lots of leveling blocks. Quite a few of those spaces are way out of level.
