I hope someone can shed some light on a problem that only occured today. I have a 1993 28' Allegro Bay. I used one of the 3 light testers today in the rig and lost all power. I have no power either shore or generator. Prior to pulling in the tester I was having no problems. I checked all of the breakers and fuses that I am aware of and nothing is blown. I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem, and if so what you tracked it down to. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is your tester one that has a little button on it? If so you may have accidentally tripped the GFI (ground fault interrupter) with the test button. You reset the GFI with the reset button at the GFI plug. The GFI plug may be a different one than the one you were plugged in to since they can be wired together. Hope that's it!

I still have 12 volt. As to the GFI, I did think of that and did try to reset it, but it would not reset. I was planning on getting another gfi tomorrow and see if that fixes it. I know just enough to be dangerous to myself when it comes to electricity. In the MH, is all power for the most part on one circuit? I have a main circuit breaker, but I also have 4 other breakers. None of them were tripped. I think I did hit the GFI button on the tester. I was going to unplug it and hit I remember the GFI light going on on the tester, and everything died at that point.
Thanks,
Todd

ONe GFI outlet can feed up to 5 other outlets. So if it pops there could be 5 others out also (usually only 2 or 3 though). Resetting it is not a problem. If there's a short it'll just pop right back out. It should click in and then pop back out if ITS working and there is a problem.

It will not pop back in at all. Also, unfortunately, its not just the outlets that are out, I have no power. A/C doesn't work, nor the Refrigerator. I was about to say the microwave doesn't work, but of course it doesn't if the outlet is in line with the GFI. I am definately get a new outlet tomorrow and see if that is the problem.

Could a breaker be thrown where you are plugged in to shore power? The breakers will be thrown sometimes when they don't look like it. Suggest you turn all breakers off completely then flip back on. MH and shore power.

Actually, one of the breakers in the house was thrown, but I reset it (was on A/C) and everything in the house works fine. I also reset every breaker, that I can find, in the MH and checked every fuse.

You might try the gfi again to see if it will work. If it does not rmove the screws holding the front plate on and see if the wires inside are connected or if the may be touching.

There are two kinds of 3-lite testers one has a button, one does not.. IF you have a button and pushed it you have tripped your GFCI as others have suggested
