Staying at Pecan Park Rv in San Marcos Tx. On trip down from houston tx
I had a blow-out on my 2006 Wildcat 5r. Only 3,00o miles on tires and trailer. Don.t know if it is a defect or just road hazard caused blow-out. Has anyone had any experience with towmax tires. What is the best trailer tire brand. I was thinking about new tires all around and increase tire size from 225x15 to 235 x 15 to increase weight load

The best way to fix the issue of chinese tires is to get rid of them. They are for display only. It you have the room between the axles and in the wheel wells, put Michelin XPS RIB 225x75x16 tires and new wheels on it. This tire is rated at 2680 lbs and is 29.4 inches in diameter. It has ALL STEEL cores. Chris

I would definitely get those tires off. I agree Michelin is probably the best, but for no more miles then you pull your trailer I would put on Maxxis. I've ran Maxxis on all my 5ths, but one, with no problems. I had one trailer come out with Michelin.
Maxxis is a very good tire and cheaper. My son in law has them on his, and they are 15 inch. I run 16 inch which of course is the best way to go.

I replaced my Towmax tires with 15 inch Maxxis load range E tires. The Maxxis tires are a much heavier and sturdier when compared side by side with the Towmax. I feel much better now that I have replaced my chinese Towmax tires with the Maxxis. I agree that 16 inch Michelin XPS Rib would be better, but clearance was an issue for me. Most, if not all, reviews on Maxxis 15 inch tires are very positive.

I upgraded to Towmax tires from the lousy Goodyear Marathon's. I've got 25000 miles with no issues so far. I'd check with your dealer to see why you had the blowout before tossing perfectly good tires.

I am going on my second year wit towmax 16 in tires with no problems I use my trailer at least 7 days a month. I will probably replace with the same tire when its time to replace them.
