I'm with Yankeeblue! I don't care for cottage cheese. Could you use sour cream? (I know, same thing almost, but at least NO LUMPS!)

Has anyone tried sugar-free jello and cool whip?

Just stumbled upon this topic so here is what we call 5 cup salad.
1 cup sour dream
1 cup coconut
1 cup pineapple
1 cup mandarin oranges
1 cup mini marshmallows
and if you want to make it a 6 cup salad
1 cup cottage cheese
Drain oranges and pineapple
Mix all ingredients together and let set for a couple of hours or over night to meld. Serve.
You can add or delete any of the ingredients to suit your taste.
Enjoy

Thanks for these recipe ideas. We're tired of banana pudding and need a change. We'll head to Harris Teeter's tomorrow for the ingredients.

I don't like cottage cheese either and when I make this, I use small curd cottage cheese. It is so fluffly that you really don't realize it is cottage cheese.

You could put the cottage cheese in a food processor to make it smooth. I do that to make dips and then add seasoning.
