Dixie is adorable, actually both of them are!! She will make a wonderful pet, just give her time and patience and love.... lots & lots of love! Her new big brother will be a good teacher as well, I have no doubt.

Watch out Steph because she has that look of "troublemaker" in her eyes. Once she is comfortable Duke will NEVER know what hit him. Are you making any progress?

Well, she will now walk around the house a bit but runs right back to the crate with any commotion. At 4:00 in the morning, when there's not another sound or soul outside, she's the happiest little puppy running around and wagging her tail. (at 4:00am, that's more than can be said for her people!)

She is gonna do just fine... the new environment, her ever growing world and all it's noises are going to take some getting used to but it sounds like she is on her way!

Time, patience, and love..... I know I've said it before but she needs plenty of each. Enjoy your new rescue, watching her transform will be a life changing experience for you as well.

We adopted a one-year-old puppy mill Bichon five years ago. It took a while for her to come out of her shell, but she did it. She still spooks easily, is frightened of loud or sudden noises, but has improved tremendously. When we first got her, she didn't know what grass was, didn't know how to run, couldn't go up the stairs - but now she runs free and happy in our large back yard. She also goes with us everywhere we go, along with our other Bichon, not a rescue pup.

Such a little cutie! I can see how she stole your heart. And big brother is just as cute. What fun they will have together!

Congratulations on your new little cutie pie. Everything will work out with the dogs in time, and you'll all have a great time together.

While you are sitting down move the crate into the room you are in so she spends more time with you. Perhaps move the crate into your bedroom at night.
