But seriously. So far I have not seen any of the NOT welcome dogs with our group and they include, German Shephard, Mastif, Doberman, Rotweiler, Pit Bull, Chow and one or two others whose breed escape me and they did not seem the type to be on the list.

Seems to make perfect sense. With shepherds, mastiffs, and dobies, Ashley would present a choking hazard.

Now that was too funny.

Looks like we're out.
Talked to RoseMary and they won't allow Rottie's, even though she is more of a Lab.
Funny 2 times were were attacked, and both were what they consider friendly breeds. She laid down both times, and I was the one that got bitten.
She has shown some over zealousness with smaller breeds, a habit she's picked up playing with our neighbor's Great Dane, and actually bit a dog that pulled to the ground and dragged it's owner into our site, she was a little defensive as it was heading towards me.
So unless everyone is willing to pull up stakes and head some place else..... Have fun...
Maybe we'll look for another place near by, but I think Morris Meadows is a bit of a haul.
She's as much a part of our family as the kids, plus to add another $25 per night for the kennel fee's makes this a little bit too much money for my taste. We can stay all 4 at Frontiertown for the same money.
We're planning on being at Killen's and probably Spring Gulch, and of course we'll see everyone at Elk this year.

Today is the only day that you can use to take steps towards the great future you see. Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow never comes, it’s always today.

WHAT??? When I read the forum earlier about dogs, I just thought that everyone was digging on cute little Ashley again. I can't believe that they won't allow Sheena in. I wonder if we tell them that we all have camped with the dog before and all our sites will surround hers, if it would make a difference. What if you really didn't know what breed your dog was, I mean if it was a straight mutt- Would it be allowed? I am VERY sad over this news...I have to think of a solution...

Here's a suggestion. Wait a couple of weeks and call them back. If they ask what type of breed of dog you have, just say "Mixed"

I had considered the breed identification as well.

However, and sadly so. When it comes to private enterprise they can do whatever they want unless it is outright discrimination.

I know some mean Ashley dogs (not ours of course!) as well as very docile Dobies and Rotties. Pit Bulls get a bad rep due to negative reinforcement.

Since when do campgrounds ask what kind of dog you are bringing??? If it made life easier for you all-we would leave Nick at home. My son is here to watch him so we don't have to bring him with us. I never thought to let a campground know ahead of time that we were bringing a dog with us. Why don't you try to make the reservation and not mention the dog

htowners, When I was searching Ramblin Pine this site came up- its a dog friendly campground site. http://www.dogfriendly.com/server/travel/uscities/guides/us/FOLDERmd/usonlinemd7955161ra.shtml

It states that they welcome dogs of all sizes, maybe they should add, just not all breeds. We really want you to come, maybe you could do what they did in 101 Dalmations, paint her- all golden since she is really a lab mix!!!
