Hello 5vers...

I have been a motorhomer for 20+ years and have started looking for a 5th wheel. I think I have a pretty good handle on what I should have to pay for a MH...% of MSRP, etc.

Are the markups on 5th wheels about the same as MHs or am I going to have to start all over?

Thanks in advance...

Most RVs have a mark-up of about 40%. Meaning you can take MSRP and multiply it by about .6 to get dealer cost on most units.
I just purchased my new unit for that same figure.

You should be able to get at least 25% MSRP...maybe with the gas crunch, much more.

you may also be able to get a better deal by ordering a trailer instead of buying one off the lot.

I wouldn't even look at a new coach unless the dealer gave at least 25% off.

We paid 65% of MSRP this April at a wholesale dealer ...

Best offer from our local dealer was 77% of MSRP ...

WOW !!! 77% off MSRP thats a pretty atractive deal if I do say so myself so you would get a $70,000 trailer for $16,100.00 ????That is if my math is right

You missed it by one 'f'. He said he paid 77$ OF MSRP, not 77% OFF MSRP...

I feel you should be able to get a GREATTTTTT deal
on any RV.
Gas prices might be $10 a gal if Isreal bombs iran.
Winnebago is taking a 50% lost this year.
I am going to starting looking at a Class A,C or 5th ,Thats if the price is right....
The way the economy is I feel we all can get great deals NOW.
Just think by sept gas prices will be higher and the prices will come down more.
I pass many Storage Places and most have 4 Sale signs on them.
I rather buy something new since I feel prices will be very cheap
in now or within the next 2 months...Jt
