And if so where did you get it? I told DH if I had to use the bedroom exit window, I would end up with a broken leg or worse! Although, I realize this is better than the alternative in case of a fire, I think I'd feel better having the ladder handy.

What type of coach do you have....My rear ladder is right next to the window...never really though about it till now but that would work to climb down on if I had to use the rear window exit...and it is always their. JMO

We don't have a ladder, but do have a fire extinguisher laying on the floor beside of bed. Of course it's on DH side.
My plan, while DH sweeps and spray. I will grab towels, wet them to wrap around our heads as we run. Plus a wet towel to wrap around my doggie. If it's to late to do any of this, were out the window and will deal with the end results later.

I've always wondered how you get your feet out first? Where our escape windows are located, you almost have to go out head first. Which means landing head first when the bottom of the window is 5 ft off the ground. I guess it beats the alternative, although a broken neck isn't too high on my list either.

I keep my roof clip-on ladder on broom snaps under the window. It hangs nicely out the window from the hooks made to hang on your roof ladder. I don't no,until the time comes ,which way I would go out, head first or feet first ,if I have enough time. At least it gives you something to hold on to going out.

By the time you get that ladder set up at least one of you will probably not make it. These things go up fast, get out anyway you can, don't worry about a ladder or a broken leg.

Whoever designs emergency exits in most of the RV's that I've seen obviously totally ignores reality when they have their pencil out. My escape window is in the bathroom. It's the classic small window with a 6ish foot drop to the ground with no hand holds. Just a small hand hold outside above the window would make it useable but nooooooo, can't have that out there for some reason short of installing one myself. Just 6 feet away and far more convinent for a fast egress is the back window (does not open) that happens to have a readily available roof ladder right there to grab and descend.
In my RV the plan is to forget the silly time consuming dangerous head first to the ground escape window. I'm going out the much larger back window and taking the ladder to the ground under control. In the event a quick egress is required, it will be much MUCH faster and far safer going out the back via the ladder.

Sam said it well!! I've never seen a motorhome go, but have seen a "mobile home" go up. Went extremely fast. There was no one in it, but if there had been, they would not have gotten out. Extremely hot fire with lots of toxic smoke. Just bail out that window and don't worry about breaking a leg.

breaking out our back window with the fire ext and using the ladder would probably be faster and safer then the exit window with over a 6 ft drop on your head not thought out very well at all.

Don't count on breaking out automotive tempered glass, which is what is on my rig and likely most (?). Tempered DOT glass will be labled as such in a corner. You can go at it with a sledge hammer and and have a surprisingly difficult time. Better to have some type of pointed device like a center punch available.
