I have a Robin hitch. It uses a straight bar that slides across the rear opening in the hitch. It has side to side pivot and two flanges that allow you to lock the arm so that the bar cannot be opened. As I understand it the Robin is a copy of RBW's Little Rocker, but with improvements such as the ability to lock the arm. I've only had the hitch for three months and it's working fine. I researched the different hitches and the various latching mechanisms and they all seemed to have advantages and disadvantages. In the end I opted for the Robin hitch because the sliding bar seemed to be the one that would give me the least problems in the long run.
As with any other type of mechanical device on the market, there is a right way and a wrong way to use any type of hitch. Whatever type you buy, learn the proper way to tell if the hitch is locked and, more importantly, how to tell if it isn't. There are adjustments to be made on it, so learn what those adjustments are. You'll be a happy camper..
