Hello all you experienced Snowbirds!!!
Just was wondering what kind of weather to expect during Jan and Feb in Charleston. We have a opportunity to work there for 2 months this winter. I know that that area is moderated by the Atlantic but by how much. Just checking!!
Happy Camping

Hey RV2go,
Thanks for the wx report for Jan temp and rain averages. Have you ever wintered there during Jan and or Feb? If you have, please elaborate a little on your experience.
Happy Camping

I am from the Myrtle Beach area and winters are/were mild. Charleston should be comparable or better. It can get down into the 30's, but not for long. Charleston is one of my favorite places. I think that you will enjoy the winter there.

I too would like to spend some time near Charleston this winter. I think that I would like to be near Moncks Corner--any suggestions on a campground?

On edit---we were at the Mt Pleasant KOA for week last January. It wasn't bad. The trip down was really interesting, it got to 17' the night at the KOA in Statesville NC, but the furance and small electic heater kept the DW and I nice and warm.

The trip home we stayed at Camp Creek State Park WV, and we were the only campers there. Beautiful in the light Snow.

Rock Pond RV Park. It is up by Eutawville (I think that is the correct spelling). It is a PPA park - very nice. I don't know what their winter rates would be like.

I have worked at the Charleston Naval Base during Jan and Feb. The weather can be chilly but not unbearable. I was there in January and again in February of this year on work trips.

But then again....I just love Charleston. The people, the food, just everything.
And the traffic at rush hour, it just stinks.

But it's my favorite work trip. I could do it year round.
