What's a guy to do? We're shopping for a trailer and, at 6'5" and 255, the average RV toilet feels like trying to perch on a coffee can inside a Chinese phone booth.

I've been to Walmart, so I know I'm not the only one in this situation

What's the solution?

This might work for you, but please wait 'till after dark: click

Before purchasing any RV, you always sit on the commode and simulate the motions, and stand in the shower and do the same. If it will not work then , it will not work later either.

We shared your problem and it was the A#1 reason we traded for the trailer we have now. My DH and DS1 are both around your size and I am not a hummingbird myself. The floorplan we have now has a rear bath with enough room to take care of business.

A floorplan with a big rear bathroom would be great for you! Look at something like this Keystone Hornet 26RBS.

When we bought our 5er, we did check every model to make sure I could stand up straight in the shower. (6' 3") It is amazing how many there are that you cant stand up straight in!!

I replaced outs with this high profile model, it sits taller and has what seems to be a bigger seat.

While we're talking toilets - here's another thing to ponder:

Ours is a short toilet mounted on a box-like riser. Hubby wears size 14 shoes; sons and grandsons also have huge feet. To put it delicately, I've had to encourage all my men to "lean in" considerably, to make my housekeeping duties easier???

Our next RV will have a pedestal-type of toilet so my guys have "foot room".

Our very first RV was short on room in the toilet area. So when we were shopping for our current rig, the first thing I did was check for "elbow room" in the toilet area and shower.

And I'm a lot less than 6'5" and 255.

I am a bit bigger than you are and here is what I do...

Find my latest RV magazine then...

Open the door, turn around and back in slowly, all the while beeping like a dump truck backing up. (That gives the family FAIR notice that something is about to happen.) Open the VENT, fan on hi, wedge the door shut, put my left foot in the bathtub and my right foot on the floor, PRAY, lower onto the commode, read magazine and take care of BUSINESS, flush, take care of more business, pray, flush, slap left leg around to "wake it up", stand and buckle up, grab towel out off the shower rod, wipe brow and exit toilet.
