I use Borax around the tires and stabilizers of our TT, a 2" band of Vaseline around the power cord and water hose. When pulling into a site I also check to make sure I do not have any hanging branches touching the roof.....has worked for me since the Great Ant Attack of '05 !!

The best product that we've found is TERRO.

Terro is the only thing I have found that kills ants. I have it all over my TT now on little pieces of cardboard. The Borax around the jacks and wheels doesn't hurt.

As a side note, if you have those big black ants and they seem to be there all the time; at home and at any campgrounds; no matter how much you spread anything around the RV. Then it's time to do some REAL investigating. They are carpenter ants and they nest in wet wood. A leak can lead to them starting up a home in the wood in your RV.
We had one poor soul that finally found just a cracked caulking section that allowed moisture down into some wall studs and when we finally pulled the wall apart the studs were just shells.

Terro is the best thing to use once they are in the coach. Borax or the white ant power (which I suspect is the same thing) sprinkled around the wheels and jacks is best at keeping them from getting in.

If you have some tide detergent, just pour some around wheels and jacks.

Most any powder ants will avoid.. You don't have to spend a lot of money on poisons.. Just my experience.. If I find laundry powder detergent generic and good deal, I'll pick up box just for this and keep in rig. Same with baby powder if on sale.

Its never killed them but has kept them at bay and controlled.
