While watching video on hulu.com my computer frequently freezes for buffering. I use a wireless connection and my connection registers as fair (2 bars out of 6). Is this frequent buffering a connection problem or a memory problem? I have 1 Gig of memory, dual core processor and use Vista operating system. I've tried both Windows Internet Explorer and FoxFire with same results.

Well, quit watching those Steamy videos, you should be ashamed!
Is this the only site you have problems with? If so, it's most likely the traffic on the server - if you have trouble with other sites also, it is most likely a connection issue.

Generally it's a connection problem.. In your case. I'm fairly sure of it

At best you can use about 1/2 your connection speed for streaming video, if the video is very high quality (high speed) it can max out a DSL, perhaps even a Cable connection. however it's not just YOUR connection

It is every connection the video passes through from the server to your terminal, and.. What's more there is the load on the server at the moment. If the server is overloaded there is nothing at all you can do.

now in some cases, depending on your viewer, you can start it, pause it and let your local buffer fill a while.. Sometimes you can not.

With most reasonable Video, on a standard DSL line, and using a 1.8Gig Celeron laptop I see the bar get longer faster than the indicator moves along it (that is there is never any re-buffering)

however... Sometimes it don't go that way.

If it says buffering, it is a connection issue. It means that there is not enough downloaded to watch without being choppy

Odds are it is your bandwidth or your local network speed. You can go to http://www.iptools.com/ and run the traceroute to hulu.com and see the number of "hops" and the millisecond delays. Also some antivirus type tools can plague streaming speed. If that doesn't work, go to the vendor site for your network card and see if there are any updates (look under support on the vendors website).

What happens when you have a 6 of 6 bars connection?

What happens when you plug in an Ethernet cable instead?
