Well, after six years, we're ready to give up fulltiming. Just bought a park model in TX last winter, and now found a Beautiful Cabin in MN, and couldn't resist it.
Don't need the South Dakota property or the RV any more. Trouble is, it's a tough time to sell the RV. The origional plan was to quit last year. Probably should have, while the market was still good for RV's. Now we'd like a smaller rig, a Class B or Class C, just something to go out for a few days at a time.
In the last six yrs, we've covered all 48 states at least twice, and some a lot more than that. Wouldn't trade that time for anything now. Just so much to see, and so little time.
IT'S BEEN A BLAST!!

Roy congratulations on the next chapter of your life! Sounds like you have seen it all in those six years.

Are you sure you want to buy again for a few times out? How about renting. Might save a bunch of money.

If the RV is paid for why not just keep it?

We recently bought a home in Florida and have stopped full timing. We thought about selling our 36' fiver and getting something smaller for the traveling/camping that we still plan to do. Our thought was that we could sell it to a snowbird in Florida who wanted a nice, fairly spacious--as RV's go anyway --rig to leave set up at a RV park.

However, the more we thought about it, the more we realized that all we would gain from the smaller unit is the ability to get into some state parks campgrounds where we don't fit right now. Our towing costs wouldn't change enough to make it worthwhile, we love the layout of our current rig, and--most importantly--our rig is paid off.

As a result, we've decided to keep our current unit to use for our trips north to Michigan during the summer. We'll sell it only when we no longer are able to tow it. It may not be worth all that much in $$ terms, but we've have lots and lots of memories from the travels through 48 states we've had over the last 3 years.

For us, it will be the best of all worlds.

New cabin is in Embarrass, MN, the REAL cold spot of the nation, up in the northern corner of the state by Ely. Not much more than a post office and hardware store with a gas station here and there.
Yup the RV is paid for, and we're thinking more and more along the lines of keeping it, or taking a smaller rig in trade maybe a Class B or C from a private party that wants to upgrade. Doubt if we'll find one that has been as dependable as the 'D-Star', but hope to, it's been the absolute PERFECT fulltiming rig for us. The good thing, we won't need fulltimer insurance on it, and that savings will pay the taxes and insurance on the cabin.
We'd really like a smaller rig for short forays into smaller parks around MN now. Something that would be easier to tow with and launch the boat from. We've had two or three class C's and really enjoyed them over the years. We're also building a new garage on the cabin site, and with a smaller rig, it won't need 14' sidewalls, and 50 foot length on the bldg.
Will try and sell the SD lot now, don't need it anymore. Will drop my CDL and just keep the Class A and MC endorsements, thereby not needing a "physical" address, and will still keep our mail service, that'll fulfill our requirements for SD residency, and keeping us away from the insane MN tax rates.
Thanks to all for the best wishes. I can now brag that I've played music from border to border, and coast to coast, and we have had the time of our lives, meeting the most wonderful people in the world. My "single" act is getting better and better as I practice, and I'm finding almost more gigs than I have time for now. DW is busy with her crafts and banking, etc., so all in all, things are pretty good.
I still check in with the forum now and then when we're on line. Have met a ton of great people at rallies over the yrs and hope to make a few more rallies yet, especially the RGV one.
