Congratulations!! Sounds like you’re a pro now. It doesn’t take that long to get comfortable towing a 5er, however don’t get too comfortable. Hope you come on over to the Montana Owners Club (MOC) website at http://montanaadministrator.forumco.com/ and share more of what you learn.
Congrats on the new unit. I went slepless like you also last year. But they delivered my unit to the CG so I didn't even get to tow it there. We hooked up in the CG in the middle of the week drove around and I told the DW to pick a site that was empty so I could try getting in to it. Then while we were hooked up we went on the higwway about 10 mi and turned around and came back. Re set up for the rest of the week. I was pretty restless for nothing. Enjoy it.
Great job on your first tow. Congrats. You'll quickly develop a habit of keeping on your toes. But there is always someting new to deal with. And for sure, be aware of tail swing. That is easy to forget.
If you need to fuel with the trailer hooked up, you will be better off to us an end pump. Trying to pull in to a center pump is usually a pretty tight squeeze, with a 5'r. Oh and watch the headroom under the canopy. Most are OK, but once in a while some older stations might have lower roof headroom.

I also went through the sleepless nights, sweaty palms, and a great deal of self doubt, (thank goodness the DW had confidence in me!!) It really does get easier. I went form pulling a 22'TT to the current 30'3" total length 5er and what a difference. My first backing experience was a double 'S' into the camp site. I was sweating like crazy but lived through it. Hope you make many memories and happy camping.

Congratulations on the new rig. Here's a thought- sell tickets to your backing up extravaganzas and that rig will be paid for in no time. LOL.
My moment came when I pulled out of the dealership across 4 lanes (no traffic at the time) and all of a sudden -NO GO!. The engine strained, but nothing moved. Long story short, the emergency break away cable had somehow pulled loose and activated the TT brakes. Fixed it, found clean underwear in the glove compartment and went on my way.

I started backing up watching all around and I saw a car behind me in a distance or so I thought. I told my wife that you better go check to see how much room I have left to back so I don't hit the car. My wife looks and walks back to the truck and said that you are 2 inches away from hitting a brand new BMW sedan. I forgot that I have a bike rack that sticks out about 3' from the back and it was deceiving in the mirrors and thought that I had plenty of room. I alway remember that when I'm not sure what's behind me or how much space I have to back up. "Good lessons"
Fortunately, what I bent my bike rack on was a pile of bags of mulch. And that was with a back-up camera!

Never back up without someone watching the rear. We use 2 two way radios.
I'll take my hot dog with ketchup and mustard! That was good!! Congrats on the new rig and hope you have many happy wonderful times and memories with it.
Backing into your driveway with a crowd watching will be a piece of cake compared to backing into a CG and other campers watching you and placing bets as to how and how many times it will take you to get into your site. Plus, some won't move their trucks just to see if you can do it.
Good luck and how much was the hot dog vender charging for his dogs?
