Are you talking about the New River campground in Fries, just outside Galax? I am not aware of one called River View. Come a few more miles East to the Fancy Gap KOA it is a much nicer camp ground. I live just at the base of the mountain and I am staying at the KOA the 13th-20th.

Have no knowledge of the subject CG. But we have stayed twice at http://www.deercreekrvresort.com/DCRATES.html about 7 miles south of Galax, 1/2 mile north of the NC line. No frills, but all sites are flat with full hook ups, cable, and wifi. Very clean. They expect the RVs to have their own toilet facilities, but they do have very clean restrooms and free laundry.

Never heard of it and the website isn't all that impressive. Looks like a row of grass and hookups along the river. No mention of camp store, fire rings, tables etc... Although for $25 per night with full hook ups I might drive up their while staying at the Fancy Gap KOA in a couple weeks. Also strange no mention of it at RVParkreviews.com
I found the campground while surfing around on the net. The owner seems like a nice guy on the phone and mentioned that they are a relatively new campground. He mentioned that there would be a listing for the campground in the next Trailer Life book.
