In the Seattle Times today Warren Buffett says he thinks the U.S. economy is in a recession. And that the economy is getting worse.
We will see the big hit on the Washington coast by the end of summer.

It's all out there to see, except for the blinders....
We're pretty much into it now, and many of us have been discussing it, and we have prepared for it as best we can.

I don't think he cares either way. If he believes that, he's no doubt shorted the market already. Not to mention, he will sell more Budweiser to unemployed workers.

I agree with "Old School" - Warren is smart and wise - but he does not care either way - because he will make his money whether the economy is up or down. In fact the more it is down, the more deals he can pick up cheaply. In part, that is how he has amassed such a fortune for himself and the many others who own the Berkshire Hathaway shares.

Old news.

Warren Buffett mentioned this on March 3, 2008 when he was live on CNBC on a Monday morning. CNBC had a live phone-in program with questions for Mr. Buffett.

Warren has been known to say "Be fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful." Glad I bought into BRK!

I would not and dont belive a word WB says publicly. Now if he was a buddy and had some things to say off the record over a beer and a cigar. Thats when I would listen.

Well, if Warren says so it must be true.

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
