Any interesting camping trips planned for July 4th weekend?

We're going to Letchworth State Park (in NY). We've been hiking there, but never camping.

We are leaving for Fort Custer SRA on this Sunday and will come home July 7th. Not especially interesting but it does have three lakes for fishing, hiking. large shaded lots and privacy. So far on every holiday weekend we have gone it has been quiet. And gaswise, it is the nearest park we would want to stay at.
Gas prices are not yet so high that we would stay at the sunny, crowded together lots of a private park.

We head out on Thursday to Clear Creek State Park. I love going there! It's a small campground way back in the woods with a river that runs in the CG!

I was going to St. Louis. According to their tourist center everything is still open with the exception of the river boats. But more rain is in the forecast and NOAA is predicting the river to continue to rise until the 30th. I just don't feel comfortable going there. We've decided to go to Detroit.

Going to Allegan, Mi Fairground on Thursday for the 4th and coming back on the 14th. Watch there fire works, fish in the river, about half hour from Lake Mi. and enjoy the Michigan Summer Samboree the 8th thru the 13th. Great power and water on the grounds.

luck would have it

We love Fort Custer. We have not made it there yet this year.

We are heading to PJ Hoffmaster on the lake shore. We leave wednesday and come back on monday. Should be a very nice loooonnnngggg weekend.

Muskegon has great fireworks that we watch from a WWII Carrier ship that is docked there.

We're going to Lake Gaston NC on Thursday. We've visited there by car as it's only a couple of hrs drive. It's a beautiful area.
