This is the first time To stay in Pigeon Forge and Iam ready to get the heck out of dodge. I want to stay in the Smokies but be in a CG that is more remote and has more nature. I can travel to the Carolina side but have no idea were to go or what CG to stay in. I do need full hookups. Visions of babbling brooks, towering trees, and wildlife that walks on more than two legs dance in my head.
Point me in the right direction and save my sanity. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Get in your tv or toad. Travel either out to Townsend or out of Gatlinburg on 321. Cgs on 321 about 10 miles out of town. Find what you like and move.

You want full hook ups AND be in a remote, secluded spot with wild life all around?

Creekwood Farm Rv is just off I40 as you come into North Carolina from Tennessee. Get a creekside site.

I've been there many times. It's a 6 lane wide strip tourist trap; over-priced and too many people in the warm months. The only good thing about Tenn side is the fuel is cheaper.

The north carolina side is more like what you're looking for.

There is nothing wrong with Pigeon Forge if that is what you want to do. It has outlet malls, nice resturant, plenty of things for the kids to do (it is costly), some nice clean campgrounds. But, the traffic is horrible almost all times of day. Lots of noise, cars, people. You wait in line or almost everything. It is not where you go for peace and quiet and babblying brooks. You need to go to Townsend for that. Townsend is close to the National Park entrance and is a very nice quiet, less crowded place, with nice quiet campgrounds. Happy Camping

Maggie Valley, Stonebridge RV Park. Full hookups, pull-thrus, babbling brook! We have stayed there several times, and really like it.

I would go to townsend Tn. stay at the campground on the left just
before you get into the park.
Stay overnight , charge batteries , fill up with water and the next day go to Cades cove and stay till you run out of water and Batt.
Just out of town there is a pay trout pond where you can fish , Hard to find so ask.
Out of Cades cove there is a gravel road called rich Mt road that goes back to town.
This is a MT!! road dont take the Rv. Great road, only one way.
In the fall it is even better , winds along the Mt. for about 10 miles.
Go slow and enjoy the great views.
Go swim in the river at the first fork in the road.
Fish in the river. get a permit.
Get up early to see the bear and deer. You can hike till you drop.

You need to go to Townsend, TN! We love Cades Cove. It's my most favorite place on earth, but we take the generator. We only use it to charge the batts & for me to dry my hair, though. We will go into Pigeon Forge for the kids & for me to visit local cross stitch shop, but thats it!!
