I am trying increase my tire knowledge. I'd like to know what others consider the best (Non-Chinese) brand of tire. My fiver came w/ Loadstar brand....already have had 2 tire failures. I've read several positive comments about Michelin XPS tires. Thanks, I appreciate all the help from this forum.

Michelin LT235R16 XPS Rib.
ST rated tires have a speed rating and are not nearly as good as the Michelin LT.
Use the search function at the top of the page and type in tires and you will hours of reading. Most of it regarding the junk tires installed on trailers and the best replacements.

I agree with the post above. Buy LT tires, not ST tires.

Michelin or Maxxis LT tires. Maxxis is much cheaper, and I've never had a problem. If I was rich, I would probably buy the Michelin, but I do like the Maxxis.

I second the choice of Maxxis brand tires. I found the LT Michelins just a little too tall for my coach. NO problems with Maxxis ST tires! While I agree the best route is the LT Michelin Rib tires, I think you'll find that most LT tires are a little higher on the sidewalls. Those that must stay with the 80 series ST tires ( due to fitment issues), the Maxxis ST is not a bad choice!

ST= Special Trailer
LT= Light Truck
ST tires are rated to only 65MPH, have stiffer side walls than a P and are almost all made in China and are junk
LT tires can have speed rating limits, are made by a wide variety of manufacturers, are available nationwide at reasonable costs, have stiff side walls and are generally much more durable than the junk that are slapped on RV's by the manufacturer.

Micheling LT tires or their XPS Ribs...you won't go wrong with either of those. The Ribs are pricey, but MOST EXCELLENT trailer tires.

Also, the STs give a softer ride.
