I use 2x10s cut to 12" long, & some 3/4" plywood cut to match the 2x10s. They fit perfectly under the stabilizers or tires. I find that the shorter lengths are much easier to handle than a 4 or 6 foot piece.

You do not need all that wood. Why carry half a lumber yard with you? I have 10 pieces of 2" x 8" cut into 10" long pieces. If the trailer needs the low side raised up two inches, I just lay two bouads at the wheels and back onto the boards. If the trailer needs the low side raised up four inches, I lay one board perpendicular to the wheels, and another parallel to the wheels with one end of that board on the other making a ramp. I then just back up onto those boards and the trailer is raised four inches. If I need more height, I just make a new level of stacked boards between the wheels, and back up again. Way easier than carrying long lengths of lumber and way cheaper than buying those plastic squares.

I guess we have been very lucky, I've never had to level my unit in the 5 years camping so I don't carry anything anymore. The most I've been out so far is at most 1 or 2 degrees which is hardly anything IMO. When I did carry something I had 4 1/2 ton bottle jacks.

The only practical use for that pistol is to fight your way back to the rifle you should not have dropped in the first place.

I did not think you could have guns in Canada? But I love the way you think!

I keep a stack of 2x8's with a chamfer on the end. I've used as many as 7 or 8 under the low side. These vary in length from 12" to 20". I've also got a couple of bags of the yellow "Lego's" that I occasionally use. I boondock in some pretty remote areas so "level" is a very relative term. I'll get there but not on the first try. It's certainly not 'campground level' where I go.

We use those orange lego-like blocks too. When we are camped in a level spot and don't need them, they are fun to stack and make things with

We use the orange plastic blocks that have holes through them. We tried the yellow ones for a few years (free with our first camper), but eventually they became brittle (from the sun I assume) and started breaking. We've been using the orange set we have now for about five years and they are as "good as new" so to speak.

Orange or yellow, they are light, easy to clean and dry, easy to store in their little pouch and inexpensive. For my $30 I'll replace what we have if the need ever arises with more plastic levelers.

We had used wood. But we were camping once in Western PA and we had to raise one side of the trailer about 6". did not have enough wood. Went and bought the orange legos. Love them. Now we have two sets. I was always against them. But they are great. My dad laughs at me

Funny you should ask.

This past weekend, I was drinking a beer and staring at my wheels with 2 x 6 blocks under them. I thought about letting some of the the air out of the tires on the high side next time and skipping the wood blocks.

Might work for an inch or two, maybe three? Of course, I have portable air to refill them.

Any thoughts.
