I'm just curious. We have been planning our vacation for over a year. We are hitting the Tahoe area, from there on to Leggett and the Avenue of the Giants. Then down to San Francisco and ultimately down to San Diego. We are scheduled to leave on the 7th of July. I would love to hear what other people's thoughts are that have vacations planned in the same area.

We just left the Allegro ralley in French Camp Ca. the smoke was there but did not hinder the ralley in anyway We just did not see the sun very well!! good luck rvtommy.

We're full timing and have been in Verdi, Nevada for the last week. We had been planning to take the scenic route through California on our way to Oregon but three days ago portions of the roads we were planning to use were closed. Smoke has been blowing in from California for days.
We're changing our plans and are going to stay east of all of the fire areas. This website has a lot of information about the fires.

My plans to RV to the Lake Tahoe area have been in the works for literally years......nothing is going to stop me from going!
My friend that lives in Placerville says they are covered in smoke.
It's like anything else in life, nothing lasts forever. In time the smoke 'will' be gone, hopefully by the time I get there.

I know how you feel. I have been planning this whole trip for a year. I can't imagine not going now. Maybe its wishful thinking, but I'm hoping that the next week makes a difference.

Today was nice here in Reno. Yesterday was nice in Burney Falls near Lassen. I would not cancel any plans that far away.

It's clear here FINALLY!....I can see across the lake to Lakeport now........The fire in Lake county is 100% contained and they are getting a handle on the fires in Mendocino county.....One of the biggest fires is in Leggett though...Yesterday, the town of Leggett was still on evacuation "alert"
I would NOT cancel a vacation though....Just keep an eye on the situation through the CalFire website.......More fire crews are arriving DAILY!

The smoke is back. ....The good news is, there are only 54 fires burning in Mendocino county now........Down from 130 just 10 days ago!
