We are going to the Rio Grande Valley this winter. We have never been there before.Should we get a park with cable or can we rely on using our satellite?

Most of the parks have cable, but you can use your satellite without any problem.

Satellite will work great and the locals are all strong enough that you will be able to stay up with the soap operas.

In the Mission area there are 3 stations you can get in English off your antenna, the major networks. Don't count on cable in all the parks. Many don't have it. But in most parks you can contract with Time Warner to get cable run to your unit. Be sure to ask about the 3 month snowbird special they usually run. Not a lot of trees here so your satellite should work most places.

Congratulations on the retirement and the going fulltime!

We have not stayed in Paradise Park. We stay in Donna.

We have Direct and you should not have any problem getting a signal as long as there isn't a Palm Tree in your way. As the others have said you will get the Local Stations off of your antenna.

Satellite works well. I have no trouble with my DISH system. In Harlingen, you can get three English speaking stations off the antenna.
