We just got our new 2009 FR Wildcat 4 weeks ago. Noticed when outside the rig a chemical type smell, one of us thinks its sulfur like. It seems most strong around the front half. Have already flushed out all tanks. It has been parked for 4 weeks and now that we have picked it up to get ready to go camping the smell is just as strong as when we first got it home June 4th. We don't notice it inside the trailer at least. But sitting outside under the awning will not be a pleasant experience. I am hoping someone has an idea what it could be??? And more importantly how to get rid of it!
Thanks.

Sounds like batteries being over charged, they will smell like sulfur. Check the water level in the batteries. For what it's worth. Bill.

I agree with Polishnurse, it's possible your unit came with a bad converter/charger might be overcharging the batteries.

How's your water heater smell? Drain that and see if the sulfur smell is from that.

Water heater already drained and it didn't smell. Going camping for 3 nights today and will leave battery home as we are going to somewhere with full service. Hopefully that will fix it! Thanks for the ideas.
Not sure if this will work so any other ideas are appreciated! Will be checking for replies from CG as it has WiFi.

Better check before you run without the battery. Some converters require the battery be present as a regulator.

Check your battery and/or your charging system.

Bill

and if your battery storage is made of metal and you plug into shore power, make sure the cables are not touching the sides. I would have a fully charged battery in place before moving your Fifth-wheel.
