I have been looking at a 5 year old Winnie. The owners were heavy smokers. It has not been in use for a few months. When you open the door, the whole thing smells like a Sports Bar Lounge. Stale cigarette smoke has penetrated everything. Someone is bound to say there are plenty of others out there, but I know the history on this one and the layout is exactly what I want. So, does anyone know of a product(s)that will eliminate, not mask, but totally eliminate the stench.

No, you will never get it completely out! Although OderCide(Walmarts) in your steam cleaner will help for cigs but will not work for cats!

There sure has been a lot of discussions on how to rid a motorhome of odors associated with smoking... Ozone generators to chemical warfare to absorb and camouflage the smell... Unfortunately not too many reports of taking a motorhome like you have described and getting rid of the smell...

Virtually all of the fabric, cushions, mattress, carpet, even some of the wood will have absorbed the smell.

If you are only contemplating having to clean and sanitize I think you will be disappointed with your efforts... If you are planning a major interior re do then you might achieve your goal.

I think I would keep looking.. Sorry

first clean then repaint or varnish to seal in the oders on wood, change all the fabric and carpets would help but probably not get rid of all of it but would help a lot.

If you can rent an Ozone generator it will help a lot.You should be able to get one from a rental place. You hook it up and leave the Motor Home for 10 to 12 hrs and it really will help. I do not think anything will completely remove the smell but it will help. Eddy

We used a commercial product called Ozyme back when we had our Inn. It worked well enough to clear a room of smoke odor so non-smoking guests didn't notice. I also accidentally eliminated all the smell from the flowers just befor a big wedding reception with it. Steam cleaners, as mentioned, work best for nasty smells in fabric but reality is all stuffed things like pillows, couch and chair cusions may need replaced. Scrub or setam the headliner too as smoke rises and the roof will be a lot worse that you think. Ozyme can be purchased at resturant or janitorial supply stores or maybe on-line now.

Go to your local Ace Hardware store, and pick up a product called FRESH WAVE. Give it a try, for about 10 to 15 dollars you probably will solve your problem. AND save a lot of $$$$.

Would the owner let you try the above mentioned remedies before you buy? What does he have to lose? You might try that.
