Saturday nights race at Daytona should be much better. I arrived in Florida yesterday and the first stop was Daytona.

Congratulations to Kurt Busch and Mickey Waltrip. It was a GREAT race, with all the elements of what makes NASCAR so successful. Primarily, what most of us like is to be fed as much info on the drivers as possible. We get to know sssoooo much about many personalities, not just the drivers but also the car owners, crewchiefs, track owners, and all the commentators.
I was rooting for my favorite driver all the way (Smoke), and also for my second-favorite (Rowdy). I also have a lot of respect for Patrick Carpentier, and was happy to see him win a pole position.
I hated to see Zippy (Stewart's crewchief) make another dumb decision (why take 2 tires, with rain assured?). But, I was relieved to see that Stewart climbed to 9th in the points. I'm looking forward to Daytona, because I know Stewart has a good car for there (he almost won last time).

I don't see why they would stop a race for rain. If they were true race car drivers they would be able to handle a little water on the track.

I take it as not a serious question, therefore....

Have you noticed that our NASCAR non-true racecar drivers always beat the true racecar drivers?
In any case, why fix something that's not broken?

Yeah, we could give several good reason as to why NASCAR does NOT race in the rain, but I suspect it wouldn't change your mind.

Interesting observation on Sirius radio yeterday. When they introduced Patrick Carpentier as the pole sitter he said his hometown was Las Vegas... sure buddy, not with that accent, lol.
