I would like to know I am buying a new hybrid trailer. I own a Saturn Vue 3.5L V6. It has a towing capacity of 3500LBS. My question is id the total dry weight is 2584 and the GVWR is 3826 , can I tow this trailer?

Maybe. You really need to find out what the actual weight is. It will fall somewhere between the dry weight and the GVWR. I'd recommend towing no more than 3200 to give yourself a little breathing room. Even though you can tow with the Veu don't expect great performance. Even though the HTT is light you still have a lot of wind resistance for that little engine to overcome.

the saturn's towing capacity is 3500 with a 150lb. driver. any cargo and additional passengers reduce that number. so an adult male and 2 teenagers would reduce the max towing ability to around 3000lbs.
there is no trailer sold that is at its "dry" weight", because it doesn't include options, propane, cargo and water. most are around 400-500lbs. over that because that's what the options will add to the trailer's weight, before you start loading it.
so if you had the passengers mentioned and the standard options on the trailer, then you'd be at the max before adding any cargo to either vehicle.

most will recommend that you have a tow vehicle that can handle the GVWR of the trailer.
i used to tow a popup with a ford explorer with a 4.0 v-6. there is no way i would have attempted to pull even the smallest hybrid with that explorer.

but i live in the west and have lots of mountains to deal with. but if it were my family and i had a saturn, i would tow a popup.

Welcome to the Forum
I will not go into a long complicated explanation but in my opinion (and it's just an opinion), I don't think this is a good match. Very short wheel base and very low payload capacity of the VUE are really going to work against you. Good chance you will also be over weight once you load up with gear and passengers for a trip.

I agree.

I wouldn't tow more than a pop up on that saturn.

You are putting the cart before the horse. The Saturn was designed to be towed behind a motorhome, not to tow a camper.

A Saturn Vue towing anything is kinda like the grinch's dog pulling the sled.
Saturns are better equipped to towed than to do the towing.

Me 4, sorry.

Have you considered either an 8 or light 10foot box popup, or even an A-frame popup like a Chalet or Aliner? depending on how many people you're accommodating, those Aframes may work for you.
