Nothing like the original. I saw my first Mustang on the street in April, '64. White convertible, rally pak, 260 V8. It burned an impression in my mind that exists to this day.
You got the year right....'64 1/2, just as Ford introduced it.

A 70 Chebby Nova, 2 door, 350 V8.
2 years old at the time, very nice condition, now there hard to find and when you do find one there very expensive or totally thrashed.

I got my 1985 RZ350 with 2 less Toomies. Keeping it 4ever.
Nothing like a 2 stroke on the street.

When I was in high school, I wanted a 60's model Mustang or Camaro. At that time, $1500 would buy a pretty good one in need of some minor cosmetic work. Never had the money, now they are big bucks $$.
I did manage to buy a '69 Bronco when I was 19 or 20 and have kept it ever since. I'll never sell it if I can afford to keep it around. The prices these early model Broncos fetch now days is jaw-dropping. I have alotta great memories in that Bronco.
I do regret not buying my folk's old '69 Nova from my uncle when he sold it at the Pomona swap meet a couple years ago. It had been in the family since the day it was new and was still in really nice shape. Didn't have the money or a place to keep it under cover, so had to pass it up.
I regret getting rid of my old Baja bug. It was my second Baja and was really sweet. But.. I needed the space and the money, so off it went. That's ok, there will be other VW's in my future I'm sure.
Here's some pics of the Bug with the street-legal tires on it-

Really clean all stock 57 Chevy Bel Air 3 speed stick. Looking for my fist car as a kid with my dad it was between the Chevy and a 73 Datsun P/U. Mini trucks were really popular at that time and place so I bought the Datsun even after my dad suggested the Chevy. Lowered it, put rims and tires on it. A split sunroof, new bucket seats and a stereo. Had fun with it but will always regret not buy the 57 Chevy.

I like it. Did you have big bore EMPI parts on it? I'm going by memory from the '60's, isn't that the company that provided hop up parts for the ol' Beetles?
Also don't you have a Triumph TR6 ...Desert Sled ?

No Triumph, sorry. The Bug has had a few owners since I sold it, all people I know and worked with. Eric owns it now, maybe he has a Triumph?? I haven't seen him in a long time. The Bug had an 1835 dual-port. It had Empi sheetmetal and a few other goodies, but nothing inside the motor. Empi has been around a lotta years in the VW scene.

I've always been a musclecar fan, even back before they were "hip" and were relatively cheap, so the "I could have made a million" deals I passed up are legion.
But as to toys I really would have bought, it would have to be a mint, stock 1967 Corvette 427 Roadster... $8500. I could just barely swing the money, but the insurance at my age then was the big killer. So, no sale (but a nice test drive!).
I finally ended up finding my true dream car (a 1969 Z/28 hugger orange with white stripes, $5000), so all was not lost. I kept that for many, many years, but I still wanted that vette on occasion.
