I'm probably a lot older than a lot of the guys on this forum and when you get older, you revel in your memories, at least some of them anyways.
Like most people that like performance and fun vehicles there have been some that I passed up, or kept an eye open for, but never came across. Here's my list, what's your's ?
When I was young they didn't have much in the way of ATV's, in those days it was dirt bikes.
What I wanted, could of bought, but didn't:
- '68 BSA Firbird Scrambler 650, twin SU's, hi-comp pistons, dual, side exhaust with the chicken grill leg protector on the pipes....$ 500 Cdn. in '78...ran great, all parts there, lots of torque
- '40's Indian Chief, 1200 flattie V Twin, hand shift, foot clutch, big flowing fenders...$50-100 Cdn. in 1966...back in those days, no collector market...just an old bike...not a dirt bike...what a handful this would be in the dirt
What I looked for, could never find:- '60's Triumph 650 TR6 C Scrambler , high pipes...Desert Sled
- '60's CZ 250 or 360 Scrambler (Moto Cross) twin piper , 2 stroke singles..great bikes...World Scrambler champions ...made in Czechoslovakia
Well that's it, what did you miss, or want ?

for me it was a 57 T-bird, I owned a lot of cars starting back in the late 40s that would be highly collectable today and worth a fortune if I put them away in storage, but never did get my 57 T-Bird.

A jet ski, 35' sailboat, about 10 different rifles, new Mustang Cobra and old 500 Shelby. Some I passed up because I am cheap, others my wife said no.

About the only thing that I can think of is maybe a 40 ft DP. I have pretty much
bought what ever I have wanted for the last 40 years or so. My grown "kids" say that I am the hardest person to buy for.

86~87 Grand National with 40k. Step dad offered it to me when I was 18 if I could insure it. Needless to say it's gone.

I would love to have one of them there Buicks with that turbocharged Buick 231 inch V6. Saw one on Sunday....black interior, black exterior...weren't they all.
There is nothing wrong with these vehicles....ominous looks...beautiful paint job and that #$@ kicking turbo 90 degree Buick V6.
I share your desire for these wonderful cars.

I just saw a piece this past weekend on the Buick Grand Nationals. 13 second street car off of the showroom floor. And the GNX's were beasts. Not bad for a 6 cylinder car.

I want my 1969 El Camino back that ended up on some rocks on the side of an icy road in the mid-80's. I have found them, can't justify them. I have the truck of my dreams right now. Would not mind having a go fast car one of these days. 911, Vette, RX7 etc... Any of these would do. For now, none of these can haul a Raptor, hockey bags, MX gear bags etc.. Would not trade any of that for the world. The Raptor and Toys are one of the best investments my wife and I have made in terms of the memories we have and will continue to create even if diesel is $5.00 per gallon. Have a trip planned to St. Joe State park in 3 weeks unless my 13 year old baseball catcher's arm was truly broken by a kid who refused to slide. Bummer way to end the summer. Will find out at 2. Keep your stick on the ice.
