The 15th of July we are looking to see the Lake George area then will be going on to Syracuse for a few days with friends then back to New Jersey. We are looking for few nice campgrounds in both areas or in between. We do pull a toad so we don't have to be right on the lake, if you know the Region please help us out.

lake george rv park on rt 149 just south of the village is the best and most expensive down the road from there is evergreen campground ,up in warrensburge is lake george escape also good but north of lake george, theres many others in the area but those are the best rated and most popular.lake george rv park has it all, plenty to do there they have drive thrus, free entertainmant, trolly around the park and to a local factory outlet mall, trolly service to the lake, two ponds, fishing in one of the stocked ponds, paddle boats in the other, paved walking and bike trails, park bike trail hooks up with the paved county bike trail to the village of lake george, plenty to do.cost of the park covers everything inside the park no hidden extra charges like some places.reservations are needed for the time you want to go.

When traveling back to Syracuse , we stay at the Turning stone in Oneida about 30 miles east of Syracuse or Hejamada campground ,in the fingerlakes region ,30 miles northwest of town.

Have to agree with tom_cat, Lake George RV park is the most convenient and has all you will need but is expensive.

If going to Syracuse via the NYS T-way, 2 other CG's in addition to Turning Stone. 1 is in Herkimer on NYS Rte. 28 KOA-Herkimer Diamond mine CG. CG is actually north of Herkimer. CG #2 is in Poland On NYS Rte. 28 (north of the KOA) called West Canada Creek CG. Both sit on bank of West Canada Creek. The KOA is closer to the T-way than WCC. But we prefer WCC for it's very quiet and owners are first rate. But if neither fits your style, then like AP said, Turning Stone CG off T-way exit 33 is the best one closet to Syr. Full hook up w/cable and Wi-Fi. Free shuttle to casino if you want. 45 bucks for weeknight, 55 for Fri/Sat.

I live just north of Syracuse and still haven't found anything better than TS within 30 miles (never stayed at Hedgemeda), but being the cheapskate that I am at times, don't like TS's prices for this area.

Any other questions, feel free to PM me. Could put you by side of garage and offer you water, cable and 20 amp power (sorry--no sewer hook up).
