Again, which model do you have. Some can be tied down and some can't. Our Eclipse has a power disconnect switch in the coach, which when the power is turned off, allows us to tie it down just like a manual awning and yes we have tied it down.

I stake the ends of the roller down with 1/8 nylon rope if the wind is going to blow. The struts that allow the auto-dump of water will let the awning blow back toward the coach if the wind is strong enough.
