Hi (near) Calgary residents

Want weigh my trailer and tow vehicle. What is the best place to do this (in Calgary)?

My friend suggested 'dump sites' but not sure whether this is the best place.

Thanks

I've often used gravel pits, which usually sell gravel by weight. They often have a large-scale weighing facility. Check the phone book and give some of them a call to find out.

Hi. Flying J in the south end of the city has a scale.
Road King truck stop on Barlow trail also has one.
I have used the scales on the highway, one is just south of the city
and the other I have used is the one just west of the city 1/4 mile past the petro gas station on the #1 highway

Any certified scale that is NOT a bridge scale can be used

It must NOT be a bridge scale though (A bridge scale is above ground on a bridge you want a scale that is flat and level with the ground around)

If it is a "Segmented" scale you park, fully loaded, with one axle on a segment (the other axle on another segment)

You then pull off and around and park with just one side on the scale, same way (Front wheel on one segment and the other on another segment)

(NOTE: you can also do both measurements with one side on and one side off)

Axel weight - wheel weight = other wheel weight

If it's a "Single" scale. then you are going to need 4 weights One for each wheel

OR.. If you attend an FMCA rally (if you are a member) or a number of other rallies you might hook up with Aweigh-We-Go... They bring the scales to you

The last time we were in Calgary - a couple of years ago there was a provincial do-it-yourself scale about 1 KM south of the city limits on the Mc leod Trail - on the west side. Just south of Pine Creek Rv park ( as it was then).
