Just purchased a new 5ver and was wondering what your opinion was on roof vent covers.

I have 3 MaxxAir covers and it is the absolute greatest add-on that I have ever bought. They allow the vents to be open all the time through any weather. I keep them open while our 5er is in storage or at our seasonal site. The only time I close them is through the winter months because snow will blow in.

I have several roof vents, one is just a vent, one in bathroom has a fan and then I have two fantasta-fans..all are covered. If they are covered and it is raining, you can leave your vent open. That in itself is worth having the vent cover put on over the vent. They are very easy to install and not very expensive. I leave a couple of vents open when towing and, again, the cover will allow you to be able to do this. I would highly recommend vent covers.

We've got 2 MaxxAir covers over our vents. They're one of the best add-on's we've made to the trailer. When it's raining, we can keep the vents open. If you've got a power fan (Fantastic Fan, etc.) make sure you get the right type to go over it. The covers are well worth the cost.

Since I've got bad knees, I'm not allowed on the roof, DW did the install of both of them in less than an hour.

I wouldn't be without roof vent covers. We opted for 3 of the Ranmble covers from Camping World. In a side by side they were a bit better made than the Maxx Air that we always had before on past rigs. And they were cheaper as well.

I'll also recommend the MaxxAir vent covers........they should be standard equipment. I had some Camco covers installed...the two piece units, and they were lemons. The within three years, two of the covers came apart while in transit. I've replaced them with the Maxxair covers.

Another thing to consider is getting power vent covers...the type that have a fan and are more efficient at ventilating the camper. I'm seriously considering looking at having one installed in our bedroom.

Ditto on all of the above... Didn't have them on our 1st trailer, went to storage one day to find a vent gone, evidently me having it opened and inch was enough to let the wind of a storm rip it off. Replaced the vent.

1st thing I added on our new trailer, was 3 Maxx Air vent covers, now not a care if I closed a vent or not.

The big red & black "Maxx-Air" logo on the side is just a sticker. It peels right off.
