Just got back from Wine Country RV park in Paso Robles and it was nearly full the whole time we were there.

So far KOA Barstow 1/2 full on a Friday night

That's because it's BARSTOW in summer!

I've had reservations made for August since January and I got one of the last sites left. Pretty much anything on the coast in California is booked pretty solid during the summer.

I haven't noticed much of a difference around here.

During the week there are 5 of us fulltiming which is down from previous years. July 4th they have every site booked - gonna be a madhouse, but fun because we can (legally) shot fireworks in this area.

We went for father's day weekend at a local state park and it was at 50% capacity. Last year, same weekend it was full. Illinois has also raised their campground rates this year over last year, so that may have added to the reduction.

Many of the campgrounds I have visited lately have been near full on the weekends, with space available during the week. However, most campers are locals, not as many out of state. Visited GSMNP recently and nearly all RVs were from TN. People are staying closer to home.

Interesting..... had a large RV show & sale last weekend. Weather was poor but salesmen out numbered prospective customers. Perhaps it's the new RV'er who is staying away and not the guy who has already taken the plunge and has an RV in the driveway??

Tried making redervations at local state parks here in Florida panhandle for this week end with no luck!!! Guess the gas prices haven't affected travel.....

About a week before my recent camping trip we got the 3rd to last spot in the state park we stayed in. I was chocked full.

Just heard on the news tonight that Minnesota State Parks are up 10% in camping this year. People close to parks are using them more this year. Camping is up even more in county parks near the Mpls./St. Paul metro area. People are just traveling less to camp.
