Hi guys n gals,

Never really pulled my 5er much of a distance since it's in a seasonal stall, but this summer we are headed down to South Dakota from Edmonton, Alberta. Just kind of wondering what kind of mileage others have seen when pulling with a diesel. My TV is an 05 Dodge 3500 with the 5.9 Cummins in it. 4x4, auto. Trailer is Cougar 310 SRX (35', 9000 lbs)

I get between 10 and 11 mpg...see sig for my stats.

There are so many factors that you are really just going to have to find out the hard way...by burning some fuel

Yeah I figured I would get a lot of different answers, I had kind of figured somewhere in the 10-11 range.

Well, as an average if you get around 12mpg you will be doing fine. I think you will be heavier than you think as my was right from the dealer on to the scales 8100lbs. 32ft. Have a safeand happy trip.

My 05 2500 2wd pulling 8K gets 12.7 and 12.2 with air. I calculate 12mpg for my fill up stops at 1/4 tank.

My QC 2005 4X4 5.9 48RE auto 9500 lb TT at 62MPH about 11.5 or so and up to 'most 13 on flat land, no head/tail wind. Cruise is on and tow/haul mode. TT tires LR E are at 80 psi, truck rear at 80 psi also and 70 front. This set up rocks for me. JMHO

Like others, mine varies, but I've averaged about 11.8 this year on over 3,000 miles of towing from the Alleghenies in PA and the hills of southern IA to the flatlands of IN and IA and no wind to heavy head winds. Some of my best legs were 14. WC loaded is just under 10K, combined gross is just under 18K. I set cruise at 63 (the shift point for 6th in Tow/Haul mode of the Allison)
