I have to wonder if 18" wheels on a 28' Outback Sydney would clear the fenders and structure underneath such as slide mechanism, etc ...
The 08' Chevy has higher rails than the classic chevy trucks do too ... I'm afraid you may have created a condition with the TV lift and the TV wheels that you may not be able to overcome ...

I am not sure why "Agrnbrt" is so angry and disrespectful but he is ill informed. He even took it apon himself to send me a inappropriate private email.
1) It is a factory installed lift approved by GM (so they "bastardized it" I guess)
2) It is covered by the 5 yr/100,000 mile warranty
3) It is also covered by a Nationwide 3yr/36k parts and labor
4) Prior to purchase I did my home work; I called GM, Pro Comp and my FW manufacturer - I was insured it was more than doable. So by Agrnbrt claim they are all "100% reason for birth control".
I am very grateful of the good feedback and ideas. It is unfortunate one member can make the experience unpleasant. I deal with guys like him everyday in my job; life is too short to be so angry, counseling may be in order.
I'm with others - if you want a lifted truck like that go with a TT and drop the hitch.
Are you sure you have enough axle spacing to hold those 18" rims on the 5'er?
I'd double check the rim/tire weight ratings for truck/5'er also. Most of those big rims seem to be looks only with a lower load rating.

Welcome to RV.NET . As some have mentioned extend the frame , and you may have to change your steps depending on how long of legs you have. On the 18" wheels get a good LT tire with a E rating, those 18" rims will look great with the 5ver lifted up a bit. Yes its doable go for it .

I don't know your age, and I don't mean you any disrespect at all. But what in the world were you thinking when your ordered that truck in the first place. Your as bad as my son, who is 32 years old, and he still puts those darn big wheels on his trucks also, and also adds lift kits. He thinks its cool looking. But in reality, having suck large tires on a truck, sure is hard on the drive-train, and tie-rod ends and steering componets. He has already had a sever accident due to his big tires, as he broke one of his tie-rod ends, and totalled his truck at 65 mph, and completely lost control of it. But a truck like yours, with those size wheels, are just not very dueable with towing a 5er. I have to agree that a TT would be better suited here. Your driving a real time bomb with such large tires on it. Can it be done, yes anything is possible if you have enought money and are willing to spend what ever it takes to get the job done, in order to be able to tow it. But by the time your done lifting your 5er, you probably could almost walk under it, being bent over some, its going to be very high off of the ground and way up in the air, and will be another disaster waiting to happen. I also agree, isn't it time to grow up. You do sound a bit on the younger side, and you are for sure playing with fire, with a combo like yours. It also costs a lot more to turn tires that big, and it sure will effect your MPG. A Truck and a 5er sitting up as high as yours is going to have to go, is a very dangerious idea in the first place. It sure wouldn't take much to flip that combo over. But what the heck, its your money. I just hope, that we never have to be in the same area as you while towing. I wanted something different..I only saw photos of the truck since I bought it from out of state and honestly didn't comprehend just how high it was going to be. It is very high.
I never pull over 50 miles and that is once or twice a year. I store my FW at the lake I normally visit. I think I am going to go with the sub frame lift of 3 inches so with the new rims and tires I will get 4.5 inches of lift. Like I said, it pulls now but the king pin has to be in the bottom position and when it rolls it is a bit scary. If I can get it lifted a bit I can adjust the king pin back up or so I think. The frame shop told me they do these quite frequently so I must not be the only idiot.
If you only pull it 50 miles a couple of times a year I'd find someone to tow it for me. By the time you're finished with the suspension mods you'll need a stepladder to get in the trailer. A high price to pay for such little towing. The cost of the mods would pay for the towing bill for several years. FYI, ours has the axle flipped and I still have to put in an extra step to make it easier to get in and out.
Then there is the problem that you'll have a heck of a time selling it (if you ever want to).
I'm assuming you had it lifted for heavy off road use. If so, you'll probably be replacing it in a few years anyway as all the parts break on it. When you do, you can decide if you want to get a truck better suited to towing, or, as others have suggested, a TT.
But, if you want to do all this just to look cool, then it's your money. There are a lot of rigs out there built just so folks will look at them with their mouths open.
