Has anyone come across any type of window lock that works on an RV window?
I'd like to be able to leave a window open a couple of inches for ventilation when parked at home.

Sort of related.....In remote or out-of-site areas, I've worried about someone jimmying a cab door to break in as that is very easy for thieves. I thought of using a thin cable and bicycle lock running between the two interior door handles locked to a front seat base, so you can't open a cab door, even with a cab door key. You'd have to enter through the cabin door then.

It is not something I would do all the time. But for example, when you are parked at a trail head, everyone knows you are nowhere near the RV. Many break-in's occur at trail head parking lots.

Where in the store would I find such a thing? What should I ask for? It seems the perfect solution to the original question.

It may make you feel better but the reality is that if you are at a remote trail head they will just smash out the window and still get what they want. Look at the ground at the remote trail heads and you will usually see the small bits of glass from busted windows.

I've seen the glass chips too. I know what you're saying. I'm thinking only of a deterrent. It would force them to bust out a window and getting cut up when climbing in.

Last year my brother had his car broken into while back packing in a national forest in Washington state. They stole everything.....even his dirty laundry. The officer who took down the report said it's the locals supporting their drug habits.

I just drop a steel rod in the track (like I do my windows at home) -- but then I am trying to keep dogs from nosing the window all the way open & getting out. But the premiss is the same. Dcowleys link to 'WindowMaxx' is a good one had those on my Class"C" worked really well.(windows on "A" are emergency exits & can't use now - wish I could.)

I've tried a steel or wooden rod in the track. Doesn't work because the windows have rounded corners. The rod simply rides up the side of the window frame if the window is opened further.

Ken, I have rounded windows on my 2007 (see sig) but the track has Hard rubber stop molded into track at 'natural' full open position a few inches in front of curve - very solid. Maybe my tracks are different as a year off-- or --. maybe because they are dual paned. Any how - 5/16" rod 'snugs' right down in glass run channel -- stays put even going down the road. K
