I am will be in the same situation in a couple of years. Would be interested in hearing from you as to how you are received. Thank God the majority of people are more opened minded than a couple on this site. If our paths ever cross you both are certainly welcome to join us for a beer. Do not be misled by my signature on here. Long story that I would share someday. Great traveling.

People fear homosexuals for a variety of reasons, whether justified or not. If you go around making a point to let everyone know you're homosexuals, to see if they object...you'll probably have some trouble.

On the other hand if you don't mention your sexuality, just as I wouldn't mention mine, you'll probably get along easier.

It should be two guys looking for workcamping, rather than two gays. Your sexuality is only an issue, if you make it one.

Good luck Aaron; though my partner and I aren't contemplating full timing as part of our, hopefully soon, semi-retirement the responses were interesting.

...you know, sometimes my wife and I stop at places that display the rainbow flag (gay pride emblem), because we know we'll get a fair and honest deal. I think that you'll do fine in the work camping environment, stick your flag out there and it may be an advantage.

Good luck, and we hope to see you on the road!

I'm not a workamper (yet), so maybe there's something I'm unaware of, but I've never been asked by an employer or prospective employer whether I'm gay or straight, and I've never volunteered the information. I've also never done anything in the public area of a campground that would indicate what kind of sex life I enjoy (or don't).

Sorry, I just see no point in bringing it up. If you and your partner act like most old married couples do, nobody will give it a thought. On the other hand, if you enjoy broadcasting your sexual preference, you may have problems, gay or straight.

"I mentioned originally, that I dont broadcast that I am gay, and if I hadnt mentioned it here none of you would've ever known"

Yeah...you join the forum today, and your first post is about being gay. What-ever.

First of all if I ever see some of the stuff I saw from some members in here ever again I'll be having a serious discussion with admin!

I deleted half this thread for various forum rule violations. I strongly suggest many of you review the forum rules at the top of each page. I will not, I repeat will NOT tolerate such behavior as I saw in here tonight. End of story!!!@
