Not sure if this has been covered before, however I found out today that Radio Shack has a Digital TV Converter which has a Pass Through feature, and meets the DTV Coupon requirements.
They are selling the Digital Stream DTX9950 converter (RS# RS150-0150)with the Pass Through capability. The local store also had the Digital Stream DTX9900 in stock, however it does not have the Pass Through feature.
Tried the TDX9950 out in the house, and it allowed me to either tune in the new Digital channels, or the old Analog ones with the push of a button on the remote.
Now to do the install in the RV.

Thanks for the info. Pass through has been a much discussed topic.

I've installed one in another RV and they work VERY good....

In installed mine with the plans on irv2.com using a vidio switch box. So do not need a pass through converter.

Circuit City now has good supplies of a passthrough model as well, the Zenith DTT-901, which I bought and works well. Just be sure that the box you pick up says DTT-901, NOT DTT-900 (which doesn't have passthrough). Most stores apparently have both models intermingled in the same displays.

I think I have 6 or 7 in the office now, and the Digital Stream is my favorite. It's an active pass-through so there is no losses as will be seen using splitters.

What exactly is the "pass-thru "feature? As you can tell by question, I have yet to address the impending changeover. Thanks in advance for your explanation.

Pass-thru allows your TV to also receive the analog signal. Some stations (particularly low-powered or lesser classified) have either not converted yet, or have some sort of exemption for conversion beyond the 2009 deadline. In my area, it's mostly non-english and religious stations.
Boxes that support pass-thru will make it easier for you to switch back and forth from analog to digital stations. If your TV supports it, however, I would recommend using the A/V (composite/left/right) inputs from the converter box, and leave the RF antenna hooked to the TV with a splitter--then you get a better picture, and can switch back and forth, even if your box doesn't support pass-thru.
