Another thing that would be nice in a DTV converter is DC passthru. This would allow you to put it inbetween the batwing antenna and the video switch that is in about 50% or better of all RV's

That ain't gonna happen when you have an active lossless pass-thru. RV'ers, and what they do or don't need aren't on anyones radar whatsoever.
KENNYG: Contrary to the media blitz and what several around here are claiming about the Feb. '09 conversion of all FULL POWER transmitters, there are literally thousands of low power and translators across the US & PR that will be staying analog -unless they choose to convert, but it's not mandatory (but really expensive).
There are plenty of smaller towns that may have one or two full power transmitters, and the rest are all LP transmitters. There are a variety of reasons for this, but often it's to protect adjacent or co-channel markets nearby, so they're stuck with LP (and it's way cheaper to operate). So for the residents in these areas a "pass-thru" is exactly what they need without having to play games with switches and splitters. These work right out of the box, and all from the remote.

The power supply for the batwing is in the wall plate upstream of the video switch, so the pass through wouldn't matter there. What it does help with is when you switch between OTA DTV and campground cable. It allows the cable signals through without additional splitters.
