when I press the rocker swith to check the gas on both tanks, the gauges do not work. They only move from E to just below by about 1/16" of an inch.

I checked all the fuses, but none of them list the gauges, plus none are blown. Any suggestions?

The gauges work on resistance so if it is moving, albeit a 1/16 of an inch, they are getting power and working.

You are either lower than you thought on gas (the gas gremlins took your gas) or the level indicator inside the tank is not getting a good reading.

I pumped gas into both to see if the gauges would change. There is about $30 in the gen tank and $5 in the other tank. So....I know there is gas in them.

What model and year trailer? What size fuel tanks?

$30.00 today at ~$4.00 gallon would only be 7.5 gallons. On a 40 gallon tank that is less than 1/4 tank anyway. Like others suggested, since you have already checked fuses and it did move, fill one tank up and check.

Oh! Well that makes me wonder if they are wired backwards. You may want to look at the wires going to the back of the gauge or to the tank sending unit (if possible). I don't know, maybe wires at the switch could be the issue too. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on them will chime in.

First question is did they work when you first purchased the unit and/or have they worked before ???
