Has anyone towed a ford Fusion 5 speed. We are thinking of getting one in place of our jeep which I like but the wind noise on the highway is a little more then I like. I have looked at the Taurus but my wife is not crazy about the body style, and the only way to tow a fusion is with the five speed. I would like to know how they do as a dingy.

Thanks,
Doug

According to the Dingy towing guide it is as a standard only, might want to check out the new Malibu it is towable as an auto.

The malibu is very nice I really like the way they look, but it is one certain ford dealer that is giving me enough to make it worth my wild to trade. With the fuel prices the way they are most dealers want me to give them my jeep.

Check out the Ford Escape Hybrid....makes a great ever day vehicle, plus a great tow car. Brake off, key to unlock steering wheel, and put it in neautral and away you go. I'm getting around 37mpg, better then what Ford says I would get.

Why not while at that Ford dealer, get the service teck to show you on a 5spd, that it can be towed 4 dn. also make it part of the sales agreement in writing.. Don;t rely on this forum to satisfy your needs for asurance that you will not have any problems.. we try to help with advice but as you know, free advice is worth every nickel it costs..

The Ford Edge is towable. Tows like a dream... I havent seen any others yet but I do tow ours effortlessly. Per the owners manual, Page 206, even the AWD version is 4 down towable. No fuses to pull. Just hook it up and go...

My $.02 worth..

I might look at the edge. It would be similar to the jeep in room. I have not drove one of those but I would asume it is quiet on the highway. I also like the new flex and it is towable to.
