We bought a 27' TT last summer and have realized after using many times so far this season that its too big. We have two teens that don't really want to camp anymore. We've tried to downsize, but the dealer says its not worth that much anymore...UGH! Has anyone ever sold a camper on their own?

Of course they have!!!!

Advertise it on craigslist, RVtrader, the newspaper, etc. just like selling a car on your own.

But why don't you just use it and enjoy it???? a 27 footer is not that large. Have fun camping and enjoy yourself and forget about it. Some people are never happy!

RV dealerships are having a devil of a time selling trailers and the bigger ones are the hardest to sell with gas prices being what they are and looking to get worse. You may be able to sell it but probably not for anywhere NEAR what you think it should be worth. Good luck / Skip

Heck our trailer is almost 34' and for the two of us it is perfect. We have never had anyone but the two of us in our trailer but in the event that we will be on the road for a couple of months 34' isn't unreasonable, for crying out loud it is our home away from home!

27 ft is not big. I thought maybe you were talking about a 40 ft or 38 ft.
I would keep it, pay it off then trade for a bigger one ! As for selling it, like others have said "Craig's List, local Newspaper, if you have a friend that lives on a busy street see if he will let you set it up with a big FOR SALE sign on it. Consignment lot is a good place also. I have a 34 ft TT at the present time but I have had all sizes from a 12 ft up to a 40 ft and a 32 ft TTs that I have set up on my RV Lots in Yuma at the present time

You could always find a nice couple that have a 19ft TT that they think is too small, and see if they want to do an even trade with you.

We bought our 30' from a private seller. We had been looking for a while and just waiting for the right one. Saw ours parked on the side of the road with a for sale sign in it. Put the deposit down on it that same night.

Selling it privately will take you more time, but you'll get more for it. I'd put a for sale sign in it and keep camping in it. Someone may see it and want to trade you for their smaller one.

Just sold one. Put it on Craigslist and sold it in 3 days. Of course it depends on the area and the trailer. But its free, give it a try. Wanted a new one but the dealer wouldn't give me squat for a trade. Sold it for 3 times what the dealer offered, then bought a new one for cash at a great deal.
