Hooked up to the TT at the storage lot to pull her home so we could us it up at Dads over the weekend at the lake. But on the trip home I get pulled over. I’m thinking ok what’s wrong as I was only going 60 MPH. LEO comes up to the window asks for my license registration and insurance card. Then asks “do you know why I pulled you over? I say nope and he tells me "your tags on the TT are expired!" Oh Crap!

I tell him I just left the storage lot and will pull it right back after we get done. Well after about five minutes he comes back and tells me if I return it to the lot he won’t write me a ticket and to make sure I get the new sticker on the trailer. So I thanked him and took the TT back to the lot, looks like no camping this week end! But no ticket ether so that’s good.

Don’t forget to check your tags!
Don

Our Arkansas plate has no expiration tag...but if I remember correctly it's for either 5 yrs. or life...but we pay personal property tax every year just for the "privilege of owning it." Double, triple, quad taxation.

Yep, took a trip to New Mexico and Colorado for several weeks with an expired tag, which I discovered about half way through the trip. Didn't get stopped (WHEW) but have been very careful to not ever do that again!!!

Nope sorry never did it. Probably because I am a LEO and as soon as any of our registrations come for up renewal we write a check and send em in. Then as soon as the new cards and stickers come in. It's off to the 5er or MC trailer to put it on.
See when you have to schedule vacation picks in October for the following year like I do. You DO NOT allow an oversight like that to ruin your plans.
By the way. The LEO that did that was being VERY generous. You should thank him for cutting you a break.

here they send you a notification in the mail a month early you can fill out and mail a check back and they send you a new sticker but you have to remember to get it inspected yourself every year.

In Canada are trailer tags don't expire you just pay a small fee to switch from trailer to trailer.

We do the same - and none of us are a LEO.

We just find it easier to do it right away then it doesn't get forgotten.

Ours is yearly.
