I just purchased at my local BJ's Wholesale Club a VR-3 Wireless Back-Up Camera System which was on the reduced table for $48.

I hooked up my Wireless Back-Up Camera, made 2 brackets for the camera, tilts down at a nice angle, able to view the rear spare tire, and objects behind the RoadTrek. Ran the wiring into the AC cabinet then through the inside cabinets, down to the floor behind the drivers seat, to a power strip I have attached to the front firewall.

The monitor is hot wired, I have an On/Off Toggle switch which controls both the Camera and the Monitor at the same time, I can view the monitor anytime I want either driving or stopped. The switch is seated below the AC-Heater control on the front of the dash board.

Rose is in one of the photo's, the photo's are not the best, but the monitor when viewed in the RoadTrek is clear, photo's taken in my garage with my 5 x 10 Enclosed Haulmark Cargo Trailer in the rear.

I had my GPS, Magellan 4250 on the dash board, but I now have it on the Interior Engine Cover next to the drivers cup holder.

I also installed a Back-Up alarm after I purchased the RoadTrek in December 2001, the alarm is also controlled with an On/Off Toggle Switch.

I have included photo's of the Back-Up Camera, any problems viewing, E-mail me.

Ron

Sorry, After looking at your dash, I just can't resist:

"And they think talking on your cell phone is a distraction!"

I know there is a radar detector in there somewhere.

Michael,

Sorry, no radar detector in there, illegal to have, on the dash board edge I have my Ham Radio, Yaesu FT-7800R, being the front panel, the radio body is stowed under the seat as I have the optional YSK-7800 Separation Kit.

The Back-Up Monitor, is on the dash board, the GPS is mounted on the engine cover, below the Dash I have a Cobra CB, took out the small clock and window compass.

I do agree a cell phone is a distraction, many accidents, serious injuries and deaths have occurred from usage of a cell phone by an operator of a motor vehicle while the motor vehicle was in motion.

There is no distraction because of the wireless back-up camera system, the system is used only for backing up, there is no view obstruction because of the monitor or the Yaesu radio.
