I cannot get on-air HDTV. I have a 2007 Challenger 377. My main TV is a ViewSonic HDTV. This works well on broadcast with the installed Winegard batwing on the roof.
I am camping north of Columbus OH at Cross Creek. Using the remote while on the antenna, I switch to DTV. The TV prompts to scan channels, which I do through the DTV menu option, but none are found.
Given my location, I would expect to find some. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,

Two things come to mind to try. Make sure the input selector switch is set for Antenna for that TV, and make sure the antenna booster switch is on.

Also all HDTV is digital and digital is in the UHF band (mostly) and is highly directional and goes less distance than the older VHF stations ( 2-13). ... the winegard antenna is directional and powered with added distance capability BUT MUST be pointed at the station antenna. where analog will come in fuzzy and you can fine tune the antenna direction .. if digital gets too weak a signal it wont tune or "see" anything . go to antennaweb.org
enter your location and it will tell you what you can and cant recieve

Both were set, so I'll try Antenna Web link.

I did the search on Antenna Web and got the settings. No improvement. I scanned at each of every 10 degrees of antenna position, no signals found. I tried with and without booster turned on.
Has anyone been successful gettign DTV in their RV?
What will we do in Feb 2009? Is UHF hard to get?

Many of the Digital TV's have two antenna connectors. One will be labeled TV and the other DTV or something like that. If you have just one cable and it goes to the TV connector, just move it to the DTV connector and you will be all set for now. What you have to do at some time is just get a 2-Way splitter and two short cables. Just put the antenna cable into the splitter and hook up the two outputs to the two antenna connectors on your TV.
These connectors are one the back or side of the TV.
Good Luck

UHF is not hard to get. Not sure what "works well on broadcast" means. Do you mean Analog? DTV is also "broadcast" as well as HD. Your solution is to trade in the Damon for a Winnie; the TV in my rig works just fine. Your internal signal distro box may be set to antenna - how about the internal switch/setting of the TV (normally found via setup menu)?

Most Viewsonics that I am familiar with only have one antenna input which then internally splits between the NTSC abd ATSC tuners. You didn't post your model number so it is hard to give a definite answer. You can go to Viewsonic Support and read the user manual for your model. Reading a manual at random the DTV button on the remote is just used to manually enter a digital sub-channel such as 70-1. For example to tune to that channel manually you would push dtv, 7,0,-1.
