Hello Everyone-
The DW and I have decided that we are going to upgrade from the PUP. After a lot of research we have narrowed our selection down to the 23B. I have found a super nice used unit, stored inside one owner, near perfect condition but he is asking $11.2K with the WDH included. I would be hoping to get the used one for $10.5K
Our local Jayco dealer has the 23B brand new for $15.9K... given the internet prices I can probably get it closer to the $15.5 mark.
Pros: New Vs. Used..
New-
2-yr warranty
DW likes the interior better
Power Awning (but based on info not sure if this is better or not)
No questions on previous care/owner
20" TV ($350-400)
Other?
Used
5K cheaper!
Larger awning
Includes WDH and probably other minor acc. I would have to buy
Other?
I am not sure the new benefits out way the 5K price difference. Is there anything we are missing?
Thanks in advance for your input.

If the 4K price differance is affordable keep the wife happy. Our experience with awnings is they are never big enough and the trailer is never facing the right direction. The WD hitch may be the tie breaker. Besure you had a good sway control.

I agree with bldrbuck 100%. He really hit the nail on the head. One thing though. I'm thinking you can get the new rig down abouut $2000 not the $400 you are thinking, with the market the way it is. Otherwise the only thing else I will say is this. We had a 23B and loved it. It's a great unit and you'll love it too.

I would be interested in any information showing someone paying $13,900 for a new unit. The best deal I can find locally is a unit for $14,999 which is listed as closeout but we do not like the interior color at all. Monday when they open again I will find out of they have other colors at the same price.
If not I will use this as a bargaining tool for the new unit if that is the route we decide to take.
Thanks for the feedback so far.

It would seem to me that if you're only about $3000 - $4000 dollars apart, the new one is the best option. Warranty. Probably new tires. It's YOURS! etc. The used one has had who-knows what kind of care and service and with the new you know what's going on. I vote NEW!

other than the fact that I wouldn't want an automatic awning I would go new myself.

And in addition to the above, with a brand new '08 Jayco is the Jayco 40th anniversary model with a lot of extra stuff, LCD TV, Power Carefree awning, special fabrics, pleated shades...and that "new car smell"! We're on our 7th Jayco so far, can't go wrong with either new or used...but as said above, new is a special treat you deserve!

Look at it this way, yes the used model may have had one owner, but it is at least 5 years old, and you never know how well it was maintained.
Warranty, peace of mind, better options and higher re-sale - go new.
BTW, way have that electric awning - wouldn't have originally taken it, but we LOVE it now!

I bought an 05 23B over a year ago for $11K. That included WDH plus all the camping equipment he had accumulated. All I had to do was go camping.
I wouldn't give more than half the price of a new one or around $8K.

Thanks for the information that helps me some. Not that it matters but it is an 03' that was bought in 04' still five years old but not used for all five years. The current owner claimed he only used it two times a year, and it looks like it. It looks brand new inside and because it was stored inside looks brand new outside..
I spoke to him today and he said he will take $10K for it. On the flip side I also found new units for $15K...
The bottom line is still about $5,500 or a 1/3 of the price difference between new and used....
I have done a lot of searching and I can't seem to find any 23B's on RV Trader,Craigslist, E-bay, RV lots etc. that are this nice for this price...Most are several thousand more, at least asking price..
Anyway thanks for the feedback, the DW and I are going to look at the used one again today so we can make a decision and start camping
Thanks again!
