Once upon a time I hauled a TT that I could leave at a site and drive away in the van to go sightseeing, shopping, etc.

I just purchased a MH and am wondering about the possibilities of getting a small car to tow. Any thoughts/suggestions/cautions/words of wisdom?

Artie we all need some more info to help. Things like what type of MH, what engine is in it, towing capacity, do you want to tow 4 down or with a dolly, how many people you want the toad to carry on the norm? All that comes into play. Please give us some more info so we can help you out.
Happy Rving.

all jeeps except patriot, Chevy Colbolt, HHR, and Malibu. Pontiac G6, Saturn Aura and Vue, Honda CRV. These are all automatics and are 4 down towable.

Suzuki Samurai, Sidekick - Geo Tracker-same as Sidekick. Light weight, my Samurai weights 2140 pounds, and tow four down without modification. Oh and they are fun!

How many people does the tow vehicle need to accommodate?

Our 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder is as small and light weight as you can get, but it is only a two seater. It is towed with all wheels on the street. It tracks very well. It weighs a mere 2100 pounds so we don't have secondary braking on the car. Roadmaster sells a tow bar for it. The tow bar and Falcon-II hitch kit together cost around $1000, and I installed it all myself to save money. It is a very fun vehicle to sight-see in and it gets 32mpg around town. The mpg lost in towing the MR2 is made up when driving it.

Another vote for Samurai. I don't tow it yet but am considering it. I stripped all the carpet and rear seats so it's more of a hauler of stuff. Very utilitarian.
