"While wintering in Florida, every month I vacuum out the dryer vent and remove quite a bit of lint..The last time I did it, the dryer still seemed to get unusually hot and not much air flow was evident at the vent.
I opened the washer/dryer door and duct taped a piece of cardboard over the openning and cut a hole in the center just large enough to fit my leaf blower in the openning....I turned on the blower and the cardboard started to balloon out and then all of a sudden it "burped" and the ballooning stopped and air went easily thru it...When I looked outside there were large lint clumps almost 20 feet away from the vent on the grass and now the vent was working with all vanes wide open....Apparently there was a lint buildup inside the machine prior to the exhaust hose connection....Hope this tip can help someone.....RKL"
At the time I thought that was a clever solution and tucked the thought away for future use.
Every 6 months or so (we are fulltimers) I disconnect the outside vent cover of the Splendide and clean out the lint that has stuck inside the vent. But I never seem to be able to get it all out, and I often wonder how much lint might still be trapped inside the machine and not be able to make its way into the vent to be blown outside.
Sooooo, I decided to try Robert's suggestion. I was just a little concerned that maybe the force of the air from the leaf blower would blow off-disconnect-where the vent attaches to the back of the machine. No need to worry. It worked GREAT!!!
Below are some pictures of the set up and the big clump of lint along with many smaller clumps that flew out the vent opening.
Thanks, Robert, for your clever idea and for taking the time a year and a half ago to post it to this forum.

Thats a really great idea!!
When I first installed my washer/drier I had the same problem with lint I think because I used the real cheap aluminum foil duct work. I have since replaced it with the hard flexable aluminum type and have had no more problems with lint dams.
